Who the heck is [Lawrence]?

Full given name: Lawrence, the Gay Unicorn
Hometown: Beijing, China (at least my tag says that’s where I was made…)
Zodiac sign: Capricorn
First Broadway show ever saw: Equus. I was astonished by the blatant display of equine abuse.
If you could go back in time and catch any Broadway show, what would it be? Glory Days
MAC or PC? MAC
Most played song on your iPod: “Glitter and Be Gay”.
Must-see TV show: Dancing With the Stars. I’m aiming to be one of the stars on next season.  I want to be paired with Derek.
Performer you would drop everything to go see: Chris Feil.
Pop culture guilty pleasure: I cannot feel guilt over pleasure.
Web obsession: Farmville
Favorite movie: Beaches
Worst costume ever: I once played Richard III.  My hump was made out of pantyhose.  Absolutely humiliating.
Cats or dogs? Neither.  I fly solo.  That is, if I could fly.  I’m a unicorn, not a Pegasus.
First stage kiss: I’m not one to kiss and tell.
Worst onstage mishap: Once my dinosaur watch fell off mid-scene.  Talk about embarrassing.
Who would play you in a movie?: Meryl Streep.  She’s the only one with the acting chops to handle it.
Leading role you’ve been dying to play: Sally Bowles.
Favorite [tos] moment: Playing Susan in the first YouTube video.  Celek had better look out – I’m gonna go All About Eve on her ass.

Fav [tos] moments….

Hey Midwestern tossers – Kelsey here with the update on how the show went!  We gave two performances on Saturday to great crowds.  Shout out to the friendlies who came to cheer us on!  Our journey with [tos] has ended for the time being, but here’s a recap of some of Saturday’s best moments:

- The “like your mom’s never masturbated” scene took on a whole new context when Will’s mom was not only there, but right front and center where we could all see her from the stage.  She took the joke super well, but we all cracked up.  Hi-larious.

- Susan Blackwell’s fam came to watch.  At first I felt a few vampires about having them there, since they’re accustomed to the real Susan, but I shouldn’t have worried because they were very sweet!  We really appreciated having them there as our fancy guests.  They were very fun and very supportive of us and our own version of [tos].

- I now have a new “worst onstage mishap” for whenever I’m fancy enough to do Playbill’s Cue and A.  In our first show, during “Nine People’s Favorite Thing”, I ran behind the keyboard and totally tripped over the cord and flopped over.  Not only that, but I managed to unplug the keyboard.  During the song. Cramazing, right?  Luckily Alex is so profesh that he had the keyboard plugged in and the song restarted in a hot second.  Some of the people in the audience asked if it was on purpose.  For the record, no, but I am a clutz and my castmates are reeeeeeeally good actors.

- Mama and Papa LaCara (Laura’s fam) brought us real Rice Krispie treats.  Delish!  You better believe we had some major backstage snackage happening.

- Remember that one time I got to do a really fun show with people I like lots?  Yep.  That was this weekend.  Pretty sure I won’t forget it anytime soon.

We Open Tomorrow!!!!

Hey friends, it’s Chris!

That’s right! Tomorrow we officially open! We had some awesome friends stop by last night to watch our dress rehearsal, and it only made us more jazzed to be bringing this show to you all! This show means so much to us and every step of the process has been filled with joy and love. Through late nights, lack of sleep, jobs, school, and personal stuff, we’ve been working so hard on [title of show] because it’s a show that means something personal to each of us.

I know for me personally, it’s really super scary singing in front of people for the first time, and I just feel so lucky to be experiencing that in a show that allows us to talk openly about the things in what we do that scare us.

All we hope now is that you all can find something in the show that maybe means as much to you as it does to us! So that means ya gotta come see it!!!

Our 2 performances are this Saturday at 3PM and 8PM! Yep, like all shows in the Jubilee, it’s FREE! The doors will open 30 minutes before showtime, and seats are first-come-first-served, so come early people!!!

We can’t wait to rock your face off!

Awesome things.

You know what’s cool?  Taking a group of best pals who write musicals together and doing a show about a group of best pals who write musicals together.  I’m just sayin’.  It’s pretty sweet.

We’ve been rehearsin’ it up late at night since we all have other shows and classes and jobs and life in general.  But I gotta say, there’s no better way to end my day then singing these songs with my friends.  It’s too bad that we’re only doing the show for one day, but that one day is gonna be pretty fierce.  I can’t wait to share this show with more friends.

May 8th.  Part of it, y’all.
